On March 18, in honor of National Clothing Day, a large-scale book exhibition titled “Nauryz – an ancient tradition, an eternal heritage” was organized at the S. Seifullin Central Library of the Zhetysu region.
The main purpose of the event was to promote the rich spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people, to widely present the importance of national clothing and traditions, and to increase the younger generation’s interest in historical and cultural values.
Students of the 4th grade of Secondary School No. 4 took part in the exhibition. During the event, participants received new information about the significance of national clothing and had the opportunity to become more familiar with the rich heritage of the Kazakh people.
The exhibition was organized in a special library hall and featured a meaningful exposition consisting of six sections. More than 100 books, scientific works, and educational publications were presented. Each section included valuable literature reflecting the centuries-old culture, lifestyle, traditions, and customs of the Kazakh people.
The first section was dedicated to the history of the Nauryz holiday, its place and significance in human civilization. It presented information about Nauryz as an ancient celebration symbolizing the renewal of nature, peace, and unity among people.
The following sections featured books devoted to Kazakh traditions and customs, including «besikke salu», «tusaukeser», «kyz uzatu», and «betashar», explaining their educational value and social role. The exhibition was also enriched with works on family upbringing, national worldview, and spiritual values.
Another section focused on national musical culture, presenting materials on Kazakh kuis, folk songs, and traditional musical instruments. This section helped visitors better understand the deep roots of Kazakh cultural heritage.
The section dedicated to national clothing presented books about its history, decorative features, and symbolic meaning, as well as publications on decorative and applied arts, explaining types of clothing, production techniques, ornaments, and cultural significance.
In addition, literature on national games occupied a special place in the exhibition. Books about «asyk atu», «toguzkumalak», «altybakan», and «kokpar» were presented, highlighting their origins, educational value, and role in fostering national spirit among youth.
The event was held within the framework of the Nauryznama decade and aimed to increase interest in national clothing. Visitors not only explored the presented materials but also gained extensive knowledge about the traditions and cultural heritage of the Kazakh people. The exhibition contributed to the promotion of spiritual heritage and respect for national values.
